About the Transfusion Safety Council
The Transfusion Safety Council is a member-driven professional community focused on reducing transfusion-associated harm through education, peer collaboration, and dissemination of evidence-based practice. Our members include transfusion medicine physicians, blood bank technologists, transfusion safety officers, quality and patient-safety leaders, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, hematologists, hospitalists, residents, and students.
Mission
To advance the science and practice of transfusion safety by bringing together professionals across disciplines and institutions, providing high-quality educational content, and creating a venue for practical problem solving.

Governance
The Council is led by a volunteer steering committee elected from active members. Annual dues fund the operation of the website, forum hosting, educational programming, and meeting logistics.
Editorial & conflict-of-interest policy
Educational content is reviewed by member volunteers with relevant subject-matter expertise. Authors are required to disclose financial relationships with industry. Content is provided for professional education and does not constitute medical advice or institutional policy.
